Sample Lesson Plan: Printmaking

Lessons in my art room are naturally scaffolded.  From the beginning of the year to the end of the year, students' skills are gradually challenged with increasing complexity.  My plans for all my projects take on the structure of a unit plan due to the fact that the students are building upon their skills over a series of sessions which then results in a final project.  This helps with classroom management in the art room.  The students recognize that the learning each day leads to a complex final project they can be proud of.  You can see this in the unit plan attached below. 

 

I have also attached a link to a resource provided by the Museum of Modern Art.   Using this link as a supplement to my own personal demonstrations helps the students with unique learning styles.  It is also a way for me to differentiate the instruction leading to better classroom management.  When the students understand the process, they are more able to stay on task.  The project sheet and the web-quest worksheet that I provided the students are also attached below.
