Workshops I've taught at the Springville Center for the Arts

Animation: Knowing that schools can't possibly offer every type of art class the students are interested in, I collaborated with the Springville Center for the Arts to teach a stop motion animation workshop for kids in grades 5-12 over the summer.  The kids were from schools all over the region.  The students spent a full week immersed in their creativity and were able to produce a variety of their own original short films.  The films were then debuted at the Springville Center for the Arts, accompanied by a live performance by the renowned Alloy Orchestra.  I have taught this workshop for approximately 3 years now.  

Gelatin Printmaking for Kids and Adults: I have also taught several printmaking workshops at the center.  One popular workshop is the gelatin printmaking workshop in which we use prepared unflavored gelatin as the plate base and create beautiful patterns and designs following traditional monoprint methods.  The kids turned these into handmade books and the adults who participated in the adult workshop turned their art into stationary.
