Independent learning (through stations)

With only 5 computers in my room with Adobe Photoshop, 5 enlargers in the darkroom, and limited film processing equipment, I have found it necessary to make the Photography students more independent in order to be able to get things accomplished.  By providing the students with stations in the room, the students can work at their own pace and be more responsible for their learning.  At any one time, the 15 students in the class will be working on photo editing at the computers, darkroom printing, film processing at the sinks, or going through teacher provided resources at the smart-board. Structuring the course in this way allows me more time to work one-on-one with individual students or groups.
